Squalane – keep your skin healthy!

What is squalane face oil?

Squalane is a lipid produced naturally by your own skin cells however, its concentrations may go down as we get older, meaning it’s important to find ways to add squalane into our daily lives, through foods and topical application. Squalane oil also has powerful anti-aging properties and will help the skin age gracefully as well as anti-inflammatory benefits to help with skin conditions such as acne and .
Squalane, formally referred to as poly-unsaturated hydrocarbon liquid, naturally occurs within our skin’s own lipid barrier. Unlike Hyaluronic Acid, which increases skin’s water content, Squalane is a mega-hydrator that acts as a barrier to keep moisture locked in so skin is soft, supple and plump for longer.

P.S. About 12% of our skin surface is made of squalane at birth, but in our mid-to-late twenties, its production begins to rapidly decline and this is why a topical application is so important.

What does it do?

Using squalane in skincare can reduce wrinkles, eliminate scars, reverse UV damage, lighten freckles and erase skin pigmentation, all while fighting free radicals. On some people it can even be used as a spot treatment. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, using the wrong skin care products can trigger a breakout or worsen blemishes. Squalane, however, is safe for all skin types.

Anyone can use either version, but squalane is heavier, making it helpful for extra-dry or mature skin, while squalane is great for acne-prone or oily skin.
